What are the Documents needed for Common Visas?
All foreign nationals intending to visit or work in Uganda must ensure that they are in possession of the relevant visa / work permit. The requirements for the common visa categories are listed below.
Regular G1
- Copy of the passport (bio-data page)
- Copy of recent passport size photo graph
- Clearance letter from Interpol or home country
- Appointment letter from the organization
- Covering letter from the organization
- Certified copy of Qualifications
- Recommendation Letter from NGO Bureau
Oil/ Gas G2
- Recent Passport-size Photograph
- Covering letter from the organization
- Clearance letter from Interpol or home country
- Copy of the passport (bio-data page)
- Appointment letter from the organization
- Income Tax clearance of the organization
- Certified copy of Qualifications
Special Pass under Company
- Passport Copy (Bio data page)
- Recent Passport-size Photograph
- Covering letter explaining reason for special pass, documents to support official status and duration of stay
Special Pass for individual
- Covering letter explaining reason for special pass, documents to support stated reason and duration of stay
- Recent Passport-size Photograph
- Passport Copy (Bio data page)
Tourist Visa
- A letter stating reason for transit and country of destination (Transit)
- Return Ticket (Tourism)
- Cover letter detailing the purpose of visit (Other)
- Recent Passport-size Photograph (All)
- Passport bio-data page (with validity of at least 6 months)) (All)
- Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever) (All)
- Recommendation letter
- Police Clearance
Note: Applications for a recommendation of suitability and work permit from the PAU and Department of Citizenship and Immigration Control must be supported amongst others by a Certificate of Good Conduct.
